This fabric has a luxurious texture and a smooth satin feel. However, what distinguishes matte satin from other satin fabrics is that this satin is far less shiny and has a unique matte appearance, yet it has all the other satin properties. This fabric's medium weight, strong body and matte surface make it useful for all kinds of garments, handcrafts and event decoration.

This satin is often used in various garments such as blouses, dresses, aprons and skirts. Given the fabric's medium weight and sturdiness, it can also be used for bedding, tablecloths, curtain fabrics, curtain panels and other home and event decoration projects.

Washing Instructions

Wash on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees.
For colored items, use detergent for colored products.
Do not use optical detergent, bleach or chlorine bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Can be ironed at a maximum of 150 degrees.
Iron inside out.
Dry cleaning is possible.

The average meterage values below are calculated for standard sizes and a 140-150 cm width. They include a 3-5% shrinkage allowance and seam allowances. For wider widths (180-220 cm), 10-20% less fabric may be enough.

Calculation Tips

Mind the fabric width: The table values are for 140-150 cm width. With 220 cm width fabric you can buy about 20% less.
Patterned fabric: For large patterns (florals, stripes, etc.) buy 15-20% extra fabric for pattern matching.
Pleated and full pieces: Require 2-3 times the fabric of a straight cut.
Shrinkage allowance: A 3-5% shrinkage on the first wash is normal for cotton fabrics. Pre-washing is recommended.
Seam allowance: A 1-1.5 cm seam allowance is included in the tables.
Lining: Lined projects need as much lining fabric as the main fabric.
